The Priestly Role of the Writer

The priest and the writer must at times speak for someone else as if in that person’s voice. Our guest Sørina Higgins will help us examine the writer’s priestly role through a reading of persona poems from her book, Caduceus. Join us for discussion and more.

Sørina Higgins is an adjunct faculty member in English at Lehigh Carbon Community College. She has published one full-length collection of poetry, Caduceus (WordTech Communications/David Robert Books, February 2012), and one poetry chapbook, The Significance of Swans (Finishing Line Press, 2008). She is the Book Review Editor of Sehnsucht: The C. S. Lewis Journal, an Inklings scholar with a focus on Charles Williams, a staff writer for Curator, and a blogger about the arts and faith. She holds an M.A. from Middlebury College's Bread Loaf School of English. Sørina and her husband live in Kutztown, PA, in a home they built themselves.
