RedeemerWrites Submission Guidelines
RedeemerWrites:Reflections on Lent
Seeking to illuminate our community and faith through the written word.
Submission Information
Lent is a time during which we are reminded to be good stewards of our time and talents – and our writing. The Redeemer Writers’ Group invites you to spend the next forty days writing and reflecting on your Lenten experience, being more mindful of the ways in which we may be called to use the gifts we have been given to glorify God.
We seek submissions for a collection of devotionals and reflections on the Lenten experience to be published for Lent 2012. Submissions of any genre will be considered and should meet the following guidelines:
--All works must be previously unpublished. Simultaneous submissions are accepted, but we request that you notify us immediately if your work is accepted for publication elsewhere. If you agree to allow RedeemerWrites to publish your work, we will receive first serial rights. Authors will receive a small compensation at the time of publication.
--Prose (fiction or non-fiction) between 400 and 1200 words. Limit one submission per writer. Submissions should be double spaced.
--Poetry not to exceed 40 lines. Limit two submissions per writer.
--All submissions should include a cover page with the work’s title and genre, author’s full name, and email address.
Submissions should be sent as a MS Word document email attachment to
Maria@redeemer.com. Writers may submit under multiple genres; please submit each piece in a separate email.
The deadline for all submissions is May 9. Submissions received after deadline will not be considered for publication. We will try to respond to your submission within six weeks from the above deadline. We ask for your patience while we read through all submissions and regret that we may be unable to respond to submissions not accepted for publication. Submissions that do not follow guidelines will not be read.
Writers whose work is selected for publication will be invited to be closely involved in the editing and production process making it a fully collaborative experience and opportunity to further build the writers’ community at Redeemer.
We hope this Lenten season will be a fruitful time for you and your writing. We look forward to reading your work.
All writers in the extended Redeemer community are encouraged to submit works of fiction, non-fiction, DEADLINE: May 9, 2011
Submissions that do not meet these basic guidelines will not be considered for publication.
