Submission Guidelines

RedeemerWrites
Seeking to illuminate our community and faith through the written word.

General Submission Information

All writers in the extended Redeemer community are encouraged to submit works of fiction, non-fiction, essay/memoir and poetry to RedeemerWrites. We only accept previously unpublished submissions. Simultaneous submissions are accepted, but we request that you notify us immediately if your work is accepted for publication elsewhere. If you agree to allow RedeemerWrites to publish your work, we will receive first serial rights. Writers will receive a small compensation at the time of publication.

All submissions must meet the following criteria:
 

• Include a title page with the following information:

—Title of piece
—Genre of piece
—Writer’s first and last name
—Writer’s email address
—The writer’s name should not appear anywhere else on the submission.

• Short Fiction, Graphic Novel, Non-fiction, Essays, Memoir:

—Limit one submission per author
—Not to exceed 8,000 words
—12 pt. font, and double spaced

• Poetry:

—Limit of two submissions per author
—Not to exceed 40 lines per poem

Writers may submit under multiple genres; please submit each piece in a separate email.

All submissions should be sent as a Microsoft Word document attachment in an email to maria@redeemer.com. 

All submissions are subject to editing at the discretion of the RedeemerWrites staff. Writers will be contacted for approval where appropriate.

All submissions must be ready for publication. Please double check your work for typographical errors before submitting it.

Writers are encouraged, but not required, to follow MLA style guidelines. An outline of these guidelines can be found here. 

DEADLINE: September 4, 2009

Submissions that do not meet these basic guidelines will not be considered for publication.
