As individuals and in teams, many practioners in the Health Care Fellowship have engaged in ways to serve the needs of the city both through, and in addition to, their regular practices.
Dr. Brian Sumner has provided a free medical clinic at the Bowery Mission (homeless shelter) on a weekly basis for a number of years.
This past year the Optometry Group has augmented the Bowery Medical Ministry with an eye care clinic that is served by several optometrists and non-optometric volunteers. Contact Priscilla Louie at priscilla_louie@yahoo.com
In addition, Dr. David Kim, with the support of HFNY, has established Arukah Medical Ministries with the goal of mobilizing volunteer Christian doctors, nurses, podiatrists, dentists, psychiatrists, counselors, etc. to serve the clients of NYC Rescue Mission and Kids With A Promise.
