Submission Guidelines

RedeemerWrites has extended its deadline to July 18 for essays and fiction pieces only. We are not currently accepting poetry submissions.

We only accept previously unpublished submissions. Simultaneous submissions are accepted, but we request that you notify us immediately if your work is accepted for publication elsewhere. If you agree to allow RedeemerWrites to publish your work, we will receive first serial rights. Authors will receive a small compensation at the time of publication.

Submission chosen for publication will be notified by September 12. We ask for your patience while we read through all submissions and regret that we may be unable to respond to submissions not accepted for publication. Submissions that do not follow guidelines will not be read.

General Submission Information

All writers in the extended Redeemer community are encouraged to submit work to RedeemerWrites. Writers may submit under multiple genres, but if you would like us to consider work in more than one genre, please send each piece in a separate email submission. Submissions must be paginated and clearly labeled with the author’s name and the story/poem title and genre on the title page. All submissions should be sent in MS Word electronically to Maria@Redeemer.com

All submissions are subject to editing at the discretion of the RedeemerWrites staff. Writers will be contacted for approval where appropriate.

Short Story, Graphic Novel or Prose:
Limit one submission per writer
Limit 8,000 words
Double spaced

Poetry:
Limit of two submissions per writer
Limit of 40 lines per poem

All submissions must be ready for publication. This includes but is not limited to correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc. Please double check your work for typographical errors before submitting it. Submissions that do not meet this basic requirement will not be considered for publication.

Writers are encouraged, but not required, to follow MLA style guidelines. An outline of these guidelines can be found at: http://www.docstyles.com/mlacrib.htm
