Affiliates

Redeemer's Arts Ministry Affiliates program is designed to build relationships of support among the organizations seeking to influence culture through the arts, media, and entertainment industries in New York City.

All Things Project uses its Greenwich Village venue to create intersections at which people’s lives and the all-encompassing reality of God’s truth can meet. Motivated by St. Paul’s words, “For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever," ATP seeks to demonstrate that all things have the potential of revealing to a human being truth about God and His purposes. Art installations, music and spoken word performances, as well as lectures and community service are among the opportunities for such an encounter. All events are free to the public. A program of Neighborhood Church of Greenwich Village.

Fellowship for the Performing Arts (FPA) was incorporated as a not for profit Christian arts organization committed to presenting the Bible and classic Christian literature through the dramatic arts. The New York Times describes FPA’s work as “exploring the theatrical possibilities of storytelling without being so obvious to remind one that these are indeed the greatest stories in the world."

International Arts Movement (IAM) is a catalyst arts organization committed to cultural and spiritual renewal. Its programs support individual artists in their work and embrace the entire arts community. IAM is active in Tokyo and New York City, with affiliations in Orlando, Los Angeles, and London. Its vision: a fusion of creativity and faith that expresses and illustrates God's intimate and merciful identity in the world.

Museum of Biblical Art (MOBIA) opened in May 2005 as America's only museum dedicated to art inspired by the New Testament and the Torah. Located on Broadway, just steps from Lincoln Center and Columbus Circle, they invite visitors of all backgrounds to learn about the art of the Christian and Jewish traditions. Their aim is to teach about the Bible's influence on art, history, and religion while fostering interfaith dialogue, tolerance, and appreciation. Through their public programs, they are committed to meeting the growing need for affordable arts experiences for children and families. MOBIA provides crafts workshops, classes, and interactive structured activities for youngsters, as well as lectures, films, symposia, workshops and concerts for adults.

NYCSalt is a non-profit photography and new media program for inner-city kids. The program provides students with training in cutting-edge digital technology, taught by working professionals at the top of the photographic industry. Students meet each week for structured classes and photo shoots, and for field trips, including visits to CNN, Miramax Pictures, MTV, Sports Illustrated, Bloomberg News, and more. The program also encourages students to pursue higher education through college visits. In NYC Salt also hosts frequent showings of student photography. Students are delighted to receive attention from their work and the shows give them confidence and business experience that will serve them throughout life.

Project Dance provides a community for aspiring and professional dancers and produces annual performance events in New York, Los Angeles, and Sydney, Australia. They also operate a studio in Times Square at the Times Square Arts Center located on 43rd Street and 8th Avenue where dancers train, receive positive encouragement, and grow in their art form. Project Dance is actively involved in several faith-based arts movements which seek to explore new ways dance can be integrated into society through the church and in our culture.

Threads Theater Company investigates the link between theater and faith, seeking to produce well-crafted plays that show both the world’s goodness and its brokenness, pointing to the reality of redemption, renewal, hope, or healing. Their plays attempt to respectfully explore issues of faith, spirituality, and/or religion, yet refrain from offering easy solutions to the complexities of life.

Church and Art Network is a gathering of art leaders who are extending their capacity to serve God in their creative work by sharing resources, making connections, and advocating together for the importance of their work to the church and the world. C&A supports those who are making things happen at the leading edge of the church and the arts through connections, resources and advocacy.

Redeemer's Arts Affiliates must

  • be an incorporated non-profit, under fiscal sponsorship of an established non-profit or church, or otherwise an official and legal "business";
  • be active in New York City;
  • have a history of effectiveness in programming;
  • have evidence of strong and Biblically-based leadership; and
  • have one or more goals that are compatible with Redeemer’s arts ministry goals.

This is not a program to network churches, although we will create affiliate relationships with arts-related ministries and programs hosted by churches and open to the public. Affiliates may utilize their relationship with the Redeemer congregation to promote events, seek volunteers or program participants, and/or build interest in and awareness of their programs. Some financial support for specific projects is also available.
