Redeemer Arts e-Newsletter
Edition 67: May 2008
Arts Month Was a Big Success!
Roughly 300 people attended Arts Month special events, and we heard from lots of folks that they made a special effort, on their own, or with friends or their fellowship group, to attend an arts event in April. We are going to continue to take monthly group trips to arts events, so if you would like to be notified about these and other special events, join the Greenhouse newsletter at www.faithandwork.org/greenhouse
Seeking Arts Ministry Leaders
We are looking for new leaders in the Arts Ministry! If you feel called to serve God by serving Redeemer's artists we'd love to talk to you!
We are seeking additional leaders for InterArts Fellowship, and the Actors, Dancers, and Filmmakers Groups. We're also interested in starting several new vocational groups. Possibilities include Architects, Fashion, Journalism and Media, and Arts and Media Leaders (for those working in leadership and administrative capacities in arts and media organizations).
Please email us at arts@redeemer.com if you are interested in learning more about serving through leading in any of these groups, or if you have suggestions for other ways you'd like to serve!

Artist Spotlight: Frank Mihelich
Frank Mihelich is a professional actor who is a graduate of the MFA acting program at Columbia University (04), and has appeared regularly in theater in and outside the city, as well as in several national television commercials. Frank is a founding member of Magis Theatre Company and Threads Theater Company. Frank will be appearing in Magis Theatre Company's next show, The Witlings, Frances Burney's scathingly funny 200-year-old satire of the foibles of "The Enlightened," opening May 16 at The West End Theatre and playing until June 1. For more info and tickets click here. Magis was the company that brought us the terrific production of C.S. Lewis' The Great Divorce last year. For more info about the company visit www.magistheatre.org
Frank is also on the staff of Threads Theater Company, a new company seeking to find the common ground between the Christian faith and theater. Threads was founded through Redeemer's Arts Ministry, and their first production will open in September. For more info click here.
If you want to contact Frank directly, email mitchfjm@yahoo.com
Frank's prayer request is that God will continue to encourage Christian theater artists to bring excellence and a unique Christian voice to the cultural conversation. Frank and his wife, Allison, are also expecting their first child later this year, so please pray for good health for all.
We are accepting submissions for the Artist Spotlight from artists within the extended Redeemer community who have professional events coming up. For more information please contact arts@redeemer.com
