Hello,

Beauty is defiant, with a chin turned up to the whirling storms of entropy. Is it not the spirit of beauty that calls us to a life in the arts? Or is it the notion of the and, or the still yet? Beauty remarks on the glory of God with stubborn, audacious and mysterious hope. We who seek His kingdom are grasping this hope, the hope of enduring beauty. What is Christianity but the living tale of enduring hope
the Story of Beauty?

Join the community dialogue as we explore beauty and the glory of God in vocation groups, In the Living Room and at InterArts Fellowship.

Winsome Lee

Winsome Lee

Winsome Lee was born in Hong Kong, raised in England, and came to college in the U.S. She calls New York her home and renewed her faith at Redeemer three years ago. She was a member of our IAF In the Living Room in the Fall.

A seasoned Salsa instructor and choreographer, Winsome has traveled internationally to perform and conduct workshops for over 15 years. She has appeared onstage and in music videos with recording artists such as Celia Cruz and Johnny Pacheco. Currently, she is working with her dance company on new pieces that strive to preserve the artistic integrity of this art form.

Please pray for Winsome as she is being called to modify her performance tactics and search for new platforms to present her work. She needs God to guide her in this new direction, provide support and use her work to please Him.

REDEMPTION
James K.A. Smith, Published in COMMENT, March 2010
The covenant God of Israel and Father of Jesus Christ is an extravagant, inventive Creator who—in what almost looks like madness—entrusted the care and unpacking of creation to us, his creatures, commissioned as his image bearers. Deputized and gifted to carry out this mission of image-bearing cultivation, we are to work and play, to make love and art, to till the earth and transform its fruit into our daily bread while also incarnating our most outlandish dreams in cathedrals and skyscrapers. Such image-bearer culture-making will be most fruitful when it runs with the grain of the universe—when our work and play runs in the grooves of God's life-giving norms.
