Submissions
Attention Redeemer visual artists! Submission information for Redeemer's 2008 Juried Art Exhibition is available online. Deadline is September 14. We also need images for holiday bulletin covers for Christmas, Good Friday, and Easter worship service. Artists will be compensated.
Are you for hire? We are now taking submissions for the second edition of the Redeemer Artists Directory, a resource for artists and the general public to get information about artists in the extended Redeemer community toward hiring them or otherwise utilizing their talents. Click here to submit your information. Summer edition deadline is July 20.
Upcoming Events
Join the InterArts Fellowship for our first Artists Showcase on Friday, July 11 at 7pm at Redeemer offices. Redeemer has a wonderful, diverse group of artists and this month we'll have several visual artists, designers, and filmmakers present their work. No RSVP required.
For the August 8 IAF Artists Showcase, we'll show work by performing artists, composers, and writers will be presenting. We're still seeking presenters for the August event. For details on both showcases please click here.
Beyond Abuse Seminar: Dealing with the Weight of Childhood Sexual Abuse on Saturday, July 12 from 9am-4pm at Redeemer offices.This one day seminar is geared towards individuals affected directly or indirectly by childhood and adolescent sexual abuse.There will be a broad audience, not just survivors but loved ones of survivors and those who minister to and/or with survivors. Our guest speaker is Sallie Culbreth, Founder and Executive Director of Committed to Freedom Ministries. All are welcome to attend. Registration required, please click here.
NYC Salt Photography Exhibition Reception on July 18 at 6:30-8:30pm at Redeemer offices. Exhibit on display from July 2-August 8, before and after events at the office and by appointment. Through Operation Exodus' NYC Salt afterschool program (a Hope for New York sponsored ministry), six Washington Heights teenagers got a new way to access the world. Artist Spotlight: Kelly Strandemo
Kelly Strandemo, a South Carolina native, moved to NYC in 2004 after graduating with a BFA in Acting/Music Theatre from Northern Kentucky University. Since moving to New York, Kelly has appeared in productions at the Ensemble Studio Theatre, the Bouwerie Lane, Theatre 315 and with various stock companies along the East Coast. She became a member of Redeemer in 2005 and has served as a leader with the Arts Ministry's Actors' Group, and also volunteers at the West Side PM services.
Kelly will be performing as "Guenevere" in the TriArt's Sharon Playhouse's production of CAMELOT this July. TriArts is 2 hours north of NYC in Sharon, Connecticut. More information about the show and online ticketing can be found here.
