Hello,

What is going on here? No, not that my long suffering Mets are unexpectedly playing competitive baseball so late in the season...but what is it that would draw in over 65 people on a beautiful summer evening to Redeemer's offices? Was it Graham's TED talk? Was it the solid panel of 3 website designers/technologists dispensing wisdom for budding and operating entrepreneurs? Or was it more? Come find out for yourself and join our growing Ei community - one that seeks to serve our neighbors with our God-given gifts.

Sincerely,

Calvin Chin

Jorge Torres first visited the Entrepreneurship Initiative in February 2010 after reading an article about Redeemer in NY Magazine. In just a few short months he saw how entrepreneurs were applying the Gospel message to remake the business culture in New York. He was inspired to start several new ventures, including a solo intellectual property law practice and a patent risk management company. He also took an active role coordinating monthly Ei fellowship meetings as a member of the Ei Fellowship Leadership Team.

Jorge has a decade of experience advising founders, investors, and companies of all sizes on IP law. Currently, he is a Vice President at Silas Capital, a new venture capital firm that invests in early-stage consumer products and consumer internet startups. This summer, he will begin the Kauffman Fellows Program – a two-year apprenticeship and executive education program in venture capital. Jorge lives in Long Island City where he attends Skyline City Church.

GOSPEL & CULTURE CONFERENCE: NOV 4-5, 2011

“And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.” Rev 21:2
In Revelation 21, we read of the great climax of redemption. We are given a glimpse of where all of history is moving, and the scope of God’s redemptive purposes extends far beyond what we could have ever imagined. God is at work preparing his bride, and this bride is a holy city—a city designed and built by God Himself. God has intimately invited us into this redemptive story, and when we understand how the story ends, the way we see and engage the city around us changes. When we begin to realize that God cares for New York City, in all of its dimensions and sectors, our eyes become opened to see His love and care for all that we often overlook. Our hope for this conference is that you will begin to see how real the gospel is in every inch of our city and to leave with a renewed sense of purpose and calling as you see hope-filled glimpses of the great City of Peace that is to come...
