BACKGROUND:
Xtrategies, a boutique consultancy focused on serving Financial Institutions in Latin American, has an open consulting opportunity focused on Latin American banks. The role is with a firm that solely serves financial institutions. The firm’s history includes assignments with over 80 financial institutions across Latin America(completed projects include clients in Mexico, Venezuela, Dominican Republic, Chile, Panama, and the Bahamas, among others, while current project locations include Ecuador, Columbia, Aruba and additional sites in both the English- and Spanish-speaking Caribbean), along with related projects in Europe and the US. In addition to traditional bank strategy projects (Valuation & Acquisition analyses, Business Model and Go-To-Market strategy development, organizational structure and process redesign, etc.), the firm has also played key development roles in new venture projects in the Latin American financial sector, such as leading the launch of the first mobile payments platform in a major Caribbean market, in partnership with a top bank in the market.

DESCRIPTION: The Associate will work independently or as part of a small team as necessary, helping to develop business, drive our clients’ sustainable long-term growth plans, and assemble pertinent project activities, timelines, and milestones accordingly. This individual will participate in client-facing and third-party sessions with senior management teams, research and organize information, perform in-depth quantitative analyses, develop complex financial models, and create compelling management presentations to facilitate insight and strategic perspective. The Associate will gather, assess, analyze, and structure information to develop conclusions and recommendations upon which client executives will make sound business decisions. This may include competitor trends, product and service offerings, market entry or expansion opportunities, technology utilization, partnership prospects, organizational issues, business processes, core competencies, resource allocation, social/political/regulatory barriers, and a wide array of other domestic and international topics.

QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years experience with a global consultancy and demonstrate intermediate to advanced Management Consulting skills including strategy formulation, analysis, communication, case management, problem solving, and teamwork. Additional qualifications include: - Business level Spanish fluency – both verbal and written (required) - Ability to undertake up to 60% international travel (required) - Superb business writing and presentation skills - Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Marketing, or other business discipline; MBA preferred - Proven problem solving and analysis skills - Desire to work for a small but tested, agile, and rapidly-growing consulting organization - Prior international exposure preferred - Knowledge of the Payments/Cards industry an advantage
