Central Presbyterian Church (Elementary-Age Children’s Worship Leader - Part-Time)

Time Commitment: 8-10 hours per week

Key Tasks & Responsibilities: To prepare for and lead children in grades 1 through 5 in worship during the 11am Sunday morning worship hour. Specifically, Sunday morning responsibilities will include (1) setting up the children’s worship space, (2) warmly welcoming each child by name, (3) leading children in selected worship songs and prayer, (4) telling each week’s bible story by supplementing the provided curriculum in collaboration with the pastor, (5) preparing and executing a craft and a game for the follow-up story questions related to the gospel message, and (6) providing children with a fun snack.

Additional responsibilities will include (1) meeting with the pastor every other week for counsel and encouragement and (2) participating in children’s ministry committee meetings.

Qualifications: We seek a warm and creative Christian who (1) seeks to live life in humble reliance upon God’s grace and Spirit, (2) is passionate about leading young children to know and worship Jesus, (3) shares our commitment to the reformed faith and to a grace-based, Christ-centered approach to Scripture, (4) enjoys working with a team, (5) preferably has an educational background and experience in elementary education, and (6) is actively involved in a worshipping congregation.
