Hello,

In the gospel of Matthew an angel appears to Joseph and announces a son will be born to save God’s people from their sins. In Luke it is Mary who receives a celestial visitation with a somewhat similar pronouncement. Though the two accounts may differ, both stories contain a special messenger and both point to the work of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit makes it possible for Jesus to be birthed into our lives. This means we become special messengers. With the Holy Spirit at work, our art can announce hope.

Join us as we create the good news of His Christmas grace and love,

Kenyon and Maria

We are grateful for our intern Rachel Rodgers. She spent her fall semester working in the Arts Ministry and the Worship & Arts Program at Redeemer. She tirelessly worked along side of us encouraging artists in their respective vocations as well as growing personally as a performer in NYC in her own walk with God.

Hailing from Music City, Rachel will graduate from Belmont University in the upcoming spring of 2011, receiving a B.A. in Religion and the Arts with an emphasis on Music and a Minor in Theater. Currently her plate is full working towards a demo, auditioning in the Nashville area, coordinating a solo concert and also attempting to graduate. Her passion for performing is equal to her love for Arts Ministry in the church, so pray that she will always seek God in her decision making.

WORK: CRUCIBLE OF FAITH
by: Katherine Leary Alsdorf
We often bemoan the classic New York party greeting, “Hello, it’s nice to meet you. What do you do?” But I’m not sure our complaints are warranted. Certainly it’s an awkward question to respond to when we’re out of work. We often feel vulnerable to people who are far more successful than we are, especially if they flaunt it.
