God the Father desires for us to know him and invite him into our hearts and lives. As his children, we inherit unique gifts that bear his Creator likeness. These particular ways of being help us to know God, be known by him, and know one another. As members of his family, our lives are intrinsically tied to the community of faith - the Church. That means we don't go it alone; it means having roots in a fellowship of believers with whom we share life in the city, so that we may thrive!
We were made by God to be creators, after his own image. Using the raw materials of the world he created - earth, body, language, sound, and more - we examine and express our experience. Despite our tendency to make idols of the things we care about, including our art, God reconciles all things through the person and work of Jesus. He calls reborn artists to join him in building his kingdom through creative work!
Art engages our imaginations, exposes us to new ideas, and allows us to experience life more fully. God created art and uses it to teach us about Him, our own hearts, and our world. As lovers of art and artists we are moved into new understandings, emotions, and relationships that allow us to engage with our culture. As patrons (advocates) we can support artists and encourage the creation of art that renews our culture!
