February is Arts Month!
Arts Month 2010 was a blast! Thanks to everyone who joined us for the great events!
The Culture Club continues throughout the year, attending an arts event each month. Sign up for the news in the box above. Other Arts Ministry events - like classes, art exhibition openings, etc. - are appropriate for arts patrons as well as artists, and are also announced through the Culture Club news.
See you there!
Art engages our imaginations, exposes us to new ideas, and allows us to experience life more fully. God created art and uses it to teach us about Him, our own hearts, and our world. As lovers of art and artists we are moved into new understandings, emotions, and relationships that allow us to engage with our culture. As patrons (advocates) we can support artists and encourage the creation of art that renews our culture!
Engage through the Arts Ministry: Culture Club | School of Gospel Foundations and other educational programs | Creative projects by Redeemer artists
Culture Club
The Culture Club attends an arts event monthly throughout the ministry year, but during Arts Month we attend four! Each outing is hosted by a Redeemer artist who gives us context and answers questions about the event we’re attending.

“Art” is Not a Four Letter Word | Wednesday, February 17

Spirituality, Worldview, and Film | Friday, February 19
Many distinguished filmmakers have explored spiritual themes through their stories, as well as through their choices in image, sound, and more. Learn more about these artists and their films, and about recognizing and responding to an artist’s worldview in his/her creative work.
Creative projects by Redeemer artists
The Arts Ministry creates opportunities for Redeemer artists to share their creative work with their church community, and for the congregation to encourage and support them.
Art Exhibition Opening | Friday, February 5
Calligrapher David Chang’s expressively fluid work gives beauty and motion to a body of text. Join us for the opening of this exhibition of drawings, paintings and mixed-media, entitled “The Heart and Hand Are One.” Food, fellowship, live music, and beautiful art! No RSVP necessary.
