Why does the Arts Ministry host professional development workshops?

We believe that being "in the world but not of it" requires us to consider carefully how, when, and whether to adopt the world's principles and practices when it comes to our careers. However, we do not believe that God is going to simply pave the way for artists who are Christians to succeed without effort. Within our congregation, Redeemer has many experts and artists who can share their experience, and we can offer these services to our community free of charge, or at minimal cost, when acquiring the same information elsewhere might be prohibitively expensive for artists. As part of Redeemer's cultural renewal mission, we seek to help artists pursue their careers, so that their work is widely experienced and appreciated.
