We were made by God to be creators, after his own image. Using the raw materials of the world he created - earth, body, language, sound, and more - we examine and express our experience. Despite our tendency to make idols of the things we care about, including our art, God reconciles all things through the person and work of Jesus. He calls reborn artists to join him in building his kingdom through creative work!
Art engages our imaginations, exposes us to new ideas, and allows us to experience life more fully. God created art and uses it to teach us about Him, our own hearts, and our world. As lovers of art and artists we are moved into new understandings, emotions, and relationships that allow us to engage with our culture. As patrons (advocates) we can support artists and encourage the creation of art that renews our culture!
Join the Actors Group every month for fellowship, encouragement, and exploration of our calling as actors in the city. For over 5 years the Actors Group has provided a place for actors in theater, film and television to consider their work in light of the renewing work of God in the world. Volunteer leaders work with the Arts Ministries staff to a supportive community as well as challenging and inspiring programs. Past events have included guest speakers such as Max McLean, Patricia Mauceri, Tim Keller, Charlotte Parry, Richard Stratton, Bertha Pan and many others.
Resources for actors thinking through issues of faith and work are available here. Join us the Redeemer Actors Group on Facebook!
