Think Tank
FSM Think Tank Committee
Format:
Monthly dinner and discussion on the gospel as it applies to a macro-finance topic.
What are the requirements for participants?
• Acknowledgement of the Apostle’s Creed and a good understanding of the basic principles of faith and work integration
• Strong commitment to attending the think tank dinners in 2008
• Having attended at least three FSM events in the past/be interested in leadership.
Mission:
To deepen our own thinking and discussion
To provide thinking resources and special events topic ideas for the group at large
To provide written resources for the wider community
Action Points:
• The Captain will work with the discussion planning committee to select topics and starter articles, will introduce and moderate the discussion, and will send out an invite along with article links once a month.
• Participants will read the selected article(s) before the discussion and will make the monthly dinner a priority. Participants will have attended at least three FSM events in the past before being invited to join the group.
• Secretaries will alternate taking notes on the discussion which will be written up afterwards and posted on an online forum which will be distributed to the group at large in the monthly announcement email. The write-up will include the flow of discussion and any conclusion and action points but will not include any specific names.
• The group will also consider any special projects proposed—the first project being compiled is a manual of intrinsic meaning with write-ups on the fourteen most common finance occupations.
