Service Opportunities

The FSM Service Initiative seeks to mobilize Financial Industry Professionals to strategically use their gifts to serve and transform both the church and community around them.  We currently have three different venues for engaging in service:

1) Quarterly Service Projects
Past and planned projects include volunteering as servers at the Entrepreneurship Forum, sorting clothing at the World Vision Warehouse, painting the basement of a Christian youth center in Chinatown, painting the Women's Bowery Mission, serving with the NYC Relief Bus Project in Brooklyn, and ushering as a group for extra Redeemer services.  Service projects involve a one-time committment.  If you would like to find out more about upcoming service projects, please contact Linda Lin.  Email Linda.

2) Stewardship Initiative
As one way to use our gifts in serving other members of the congregation and community, we are collaborating with the Budget Ministry and Redeemer Counseling Ministry to provide teaching teams and facilitators for debt reduction workshops, basic investing seminars, and special financial topic classes which examine our use of money, debt, and investments as Christians. If you would have interest in teaching or would like to find out more about this initiative, please email William Wu.  Email William.

3) Entrepreneurship Initiative
While not directly a service project of FSM, the Entrepreneurship initiative is part of an effort by the Center for Faith and Work at large, of which FSM is a part.  If you would be interested in using your gifts to assist in the process of evaluating or advising new/existing non-profit and for-profit ventures in New York City, please go to www.faithandwork.org/ei to read more or contact Sonja Chen  at the Center for Faith and Work.
